What is sushi?
Sushi is a mix of vinegar and served with seafood: fish eggs, raw fish, vegetables, seaweed … When eating sushi, people often use seaweed to cover or wrap outside.
For Japanese people, sushi is considered to be the main dish in the meal (like the rice dish of Vietnamese people). However, when developed abroad, the role of the main dish is not so obvious.

What is Makimono sushi?
Makimono is a familiar sushi roll and is the most common type of sushi today. Sushi Makimon is made of seafood, vegetables wrapped with rice and vinegar and covered with a piece of seaweed. Sushi Makimono has a long cylindrical shape (like kimbap). When eating, both the sushi bar will be cut into many small chunks to fit into the mouth and easy to grab.
What is Nigirizushi (Nigiri sushi)?
Nigirizushi is not a sushi roll like Makimono. Nigirizushi is a type of sushi with ingredients including a small handful of vinegar mixed rice below. Above is a slice of seafood added with small onions or grated ginger.
Because the slices of fish meat above are usually wide, covering all the rice balls, Nigirizushi is a kind of sushi that is easily confused with sashimi.
Chirashizushi is not classified into small pieces like Makimono or Nigirizushi. Chirashizushi comes in the form of a bowl of rice on the top, which are meat, fish, fish eggs, seaweed, vegetables … sliced into thin slices.

What is sashimi?
Sashimi is also a special dish of Japan. The main ingredient of sashimi is freshly sliced fresh seafood, served with grated radish and perilla leaves.
Sashimi is not the main dish like sushi. Sashimi is considered an appetizer in Japanese meals. Because they think that, if they eat later or eat the same dishes, the taste of those dishes will overwhelm or lose the taste of sashimi.
